About Megan

Megan is a creative leader, producer, and dramaturg with over 20 years of experience in interdisciplinary performing arts cultivating meaningful relationships, raising capital, implementing effective communication strategies, and navigating organizational change.

Most recently, Megan developed a comprehensive legacy plan which raised nearly $2 million for SITI Company, an award-winning theatre ensemble. The plan covered curating and producing SITI’s ambitious finale season, launching the SITI Living Archive, and developing and editing a retrospective book.

Before joining SITI Company, Megan was the Producing Director of CalArts Center for New Performance in Los Angeles, where she produced shows with Polish director, Natalia Korczakowska; Nataki Garrett; acclaimed Chinese director, Stan Lai; and Roger Guenveur Smith; at venues like REDCAT, the Huntington Gardens, the BRIC, the World Internet Convention Center in Wuzhen, and Małopolska Garden of Arts in Krakow. She has developed and/or produced devised ensemble work with Ripe Time, Lear deBessonet, SITI Company, Palissimo, and the Rude Mechs; new plays by Liz Duffy Adams, Sheila Callaghan, Virginia Grise, Dominique Morisseau, Saviana Stanescu, and Catherine Trieschmann, among others.

Megan served as dramaturg on the American Premiere of Jackie by Elfriede Jelinek, directed by Tea Alagic, and has edited the English translations (by Gitta Honegger) of a number of Jelinek’s plays, including Rechnitz and The Charges (The Supplicants).

She worked as the Director of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, which is dedicated to advancing the crafts of stage direction and choreography. Prior to SDCF, she worked for seven years as the Associate Artistic Director of WP Theater, where she produced and/or dramaturged ten world premieres, six New York premieres, five developmental productions, three site-specific shows, and dozens of workshops and readings. In addition to managing WP’s new play development and playwright commissions, she also led the Lab for Directors, Playwrights, and Producers. Megan has been on faculty at the SITI Company Conservatory, Brooklyn College/CUNY, and California Institute of the Arts. She is currently on faculty at Einhorn School for the Performing Arts (ESPA).
